Biography

Lynn was born and raised in New Orleans, where most of her family still resides. She received her B.A. in political science, with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 1984. Upon graduation, she received the A.C. Reynolds Founder Award for outstanding citizenship. Lynn attended the University of North Carolina School of Law, graduating in 1987 in the top 15% of her class. She was one of eight members of her class inducted into the James E. and Carolyn B. Davis Society, based on academics, character, integrity, leadership, and service to the university community.

While in law school, Lynn clerked with Ferguson, Stein in Chapel Hill. She began her legal career practicing as an employment lawyer with Crisp, Davis in Raleigh. In 1991, Lynn started her own law practice in Durham, where she remains today.

Lynn is an avid fan of Carolina basketball and LSU football. She has continued, inexplicably, to be a loyal supporter of the New Orleans Saints ever since, at age 8, she watched John Gilliam return the opening kickoff for a touchdown in the Saints’ inaugural game on September 17, 1967.
